Planning for Your !MPACT Presentation
To ensure a successful !MPACT presentation, please review the following guidelines:
Parent Notification
High schools should provide notice to parents prior to an !MPACT presentation. This is particularly important if students have recently suffered a loss. Parents should be informed of the presentation and allowed to opt out if needed.
Student Involvement
Visit this page on our website to explore activities the school can initiate to involve students in developing a program that complements !MPACT's presentation.
Presentation Setup
We prefer to present on stage. Please ensure the provision of a podium, stationary microphone, portable microphone, and appropriate seating for presenters. We will bring a laptop that needs to be connected to your systems, including a large screen and auditorium speakers. It is essential to have tech support available during the presentation.
Introduction
Before our presentation, someone should introduce us. The introduction should emphasize that each speaker will share personal and emotional stories. Some things may be difficult to hear. Counselors will be available to students throughout the day as a support measure.
Refreshments
We kindly request bottled water for the presenters during the event.
Emotional Support
Please be aware that some attendees may become emotional during the presentation. To address this, it would be helpful to have tissues available.
Event Promotion
Advertising the event on your school website and in your newsletter is essential to maximize attendance and participation.
Press Coverage
Arranging press coverage on the day of the event will help raise awareness about our cause. Please provide the press with our website address and contact information. Inform !MPACT of any press coverage plans before the event. Our website address is http://www.mourningparentsact.com.
Feedback Is Welcome
Following the program, we encourage attendees to take the time to discuss and write about their reactions to the presentation. This post-event reflection is significant as we have learned from feedback that some attendees benefit from discussing what they have heard.
Additional Notes
If you find our program worthy, we request a recommendation letter from the school administration. Your support will help contribute to advancing our mission. Please note that while we do not charge high schools for our presentations, we accept monetary donations to help us continue our work.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to this vital cause. We look forward to bringing our !MPACT presentation to your school.
